YPF recently produced a pressure lifting module with the same import and export. It was the first time to have a try. Sc8801 is a synchronous 4-tube bi-directional voltage rising and discharging controller. The specific introduction of sc8801 is as follows:

Sc8801 function introduction: sc8801 is a synchronous 4-tube bidirectional voltage up and down charge discharge controller. No matter the input voltage is lower than, higher than or equal to the battery voltage, it can achieve charging management for the battery pack. When the system needs to discharge from the battery pack, sc8801 can output the required voltage in reverse direction, and can also output voltage lower than, higher than or equal to the battery pack voltage. Sc8801 has a wide range of input and output voltages. It can support the application range from 2.7V to 40V, and meet the different needs of customers from 1 to 6 lithium batteries. The sc8801 also uses the industry-leading 10V driver voltage and makes full use of the external power transistor to achieve the highest conversion efficiency.

Sc8801 adopts current mode to control voltage rise, drop or rise, and external resistance can be used to adjust switch frequency, battery voltage setting value and input and output current limiting value, so as to meet different application requirements and simplify the design. It is easy to control the direction of the output through the disscr 8801 pin. It also supports a series of protection functions including input current limiting, output current limiting, dynamic input power regulation, internal maximum current limiting, output over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection and over temperature protection, so as to ensure that the system can adapt to various abnormal conditions. Sc8801 is packaged with 32 pin 4 × 4 QFN.

It can be used in mobile power supply, intelligent USB socket, USB PD, USB hub, car charger, electronic cigarette, energy recovery, industrial instruments and meters.

Let's look at the board first.
17x17 giant integrated inductor, 17 large capacity ceramic capacitors, 8 low ESR chip electrolysis, 5 original Bourns potentiometers ensure precise adjustment.

Next, build a portable power supply, use battery power supply, charge sc8801 and output voltage. The raw materials used are as follows:

Four series and two parallel batteries are used;

4 series of balance protection plates;

Sc8801 lifting plate;

High precision voltmeter;

Some other materials.


The battery pack uses Samsung 35e, which is of high quality and low price.

Then process the interface board, two switches: one is used to switch the voltage up and down module, the other is used to switch the charging or voltage rising state, one charging indicator, one dc5.5 × 2.5 socket, the same port for input and output.

Several control lines of 8801 module are led out and need to be connected to the interface board.

The voltmeter is connected to the VIN of 8801 to indicate the voltage status during reverse output and charging input.

It's time to assemble.


Battery module part.
The balance board works normally and the battery voltage indicator works normally.
Connect the pressure regulator module. That's what it looks like.

On the back is the battery pack, 8, 4 in series and 2 in parallel

Computer test


No load, the output voltage is set at 16.65v.
Output mode, power supply to MacBook Pro, voltage is 17.9v.
The voltage is 12.21v.
Charging mode, support QC input 12.2v 1.88a (charging current is adjustable, see board description for details).

DC port input charging, 12V 1.78a, input 3-30V, can be charged. The cut-off voltage and charging current are regulated by potentiometer.

The actual test shows that the test board equipped with sc8801 chip supports a wide range of voltages, which provides more choices for DIY players and engineers.
